Animated GIF
Graphic Interchange Format invented by Compuserve is a high compression image file specifically for the web.It may contain up to 256 colours, one of these colours can be made transparent, allowing background texture and colour of the web site to show through. Just like a cartoon an animated GIF comprises of a series of frames - the book opposite shows an example with a transparent background. |
